"Careful love, you're gettin' close to compliment territory."
Mirage didn't know how he put up with those two.
Offline
((Yes, Timor and Atlantis totally not flirting... ;D))
"Don't worry about that." Atlantis drawled. "I'd sooner gouge out my own eyes than pay a compliment to you."
Offline
"Aw, ain't that sweet?" He said with a lazy grin.
Offline
"Moving on." Atlantis said, ignoring Timor's comment. "Raez, Mirage, do you have any complaints or problems to voice?"
Offline
"Trade has been slow near the East-North boarder." Mirage said.
"Well it ain't my doin'."
Offline
"I've been careful to let enough merchant vessels sail safely through my waters so as to encourage more trade. If there's been any setbacks in the trading routes, then it will have been of your own doing." Atlantis replied calmly.
Offline
"I ain't done nothin'!" Timor said again.
"I think the shipments are getting intercepted somewhere." Mirage went on.
Offline
"Yes, that's most likely it." Atlantis mused. "Timor?" She glanced at him, a dark gleam in her eyes.
Offline
"Like i said! I've been mindin' my own! Totally innocent I am!" He said, raising his hands as if to prove it. "Whoever's been stealin' from you. It ain't me!"
Mirage eyed him suspiciously. "If not, then there's always the Classari, or perhaps someone new we aren't aware of yet."
Offline
"Not you, Raez, I hope." Atlantis glanced at the Southern Cardinal with slightly narrowed eyes.
Offline
Thanks for waiting again lol.
"Ey," Raez says, putting his hands up in mock defense. "I put up with you two bickering without even a word, and this is what I get? A baseless accusation?" He smirks and crosses his arms, leaning back casually in his seat. "Besides, I think we all know that doing something like that would be of detriment to all of us anyways. Quite a strike in the balance we've got."
Offline
"It's no accusation, Raez. Merely a question." Atlantis tilted her head to the side.
Offline
"Well, then, I believe I have answered it," he responds, staying perfectly still. "It would not be in my interest--or that of my crew--to do so. Least of all before a meeting where I could get pinpointed for it."
Offline
She nodded serenely to him. "Then we have our answer. If all four of us Cardinals deny raiding the merchant ships along the East-North border, than it's either low-level pirate crews or the Classari."
Offline
"Ya got robbed by a greenie!" Timor jeered.
Mirage ignored his laughter with some effort.
Offline
Atlantis pointedly ignored Timor.
Offline
"Or one of us would be lying," Raez points out. "However, let us hope that's not the case." He settles down a bit, though he looks very relaxed in the first place. "That seems out of character for the Classari."
Offline
"Aye," Timor agreed. "Ain't like 'em to cut off trades. They'd be too busy blastin' ships to think about it."
Offline
((Poke))
Offline
(Here waiting for the others to respond tbh)
Offline
"Agreed." Mirage said. "And if it isn't one of us, it must be someone we don't know..."
"Well, you can 'ave fun with that all you like, it ain't got nothin' to do with me."
Offline
Atlantis leaned back in her throne to study her fellow Cardinals with heavy-lidded eyes. "Seeing as how the two Cardinals it directly affects are me and Mirage, I suppose for the time being that it would be our problem. But how long, Timor, until these mysterious attacks and raids spread to Western and Southern waters? Surely we should want to root out the troublemakers and cut off their heads before their infection spreads."
Offline
"Rather hire 'em actually." He said with a shrug. "If some nobody greenie can pull one over on two o' the Cardinals, they'd make a right fine crewmember."
Offline
"I'm all for rooting them out," Raez says with a slight shrug. He shifts in position slightly. "They would have to be of great influence to control parts of all cardinal regions, but when they do so, it'd likely be a bit late to act. Perhaps they're a mercenary of some sort, or perhaps..." he pretends to think, probably to make his sentence a bit more dramatic. "A challenger to us?" The corner of his mouth lifts a bit before he addresses Timor. "In which case, if they don't challenge you, one could even think you'd be preparing to challenge the rest of us."
Offline
"If I had any incli-nation of challenging you lot, you'd know." Timor said with a crooked grin.
Offline
"Oh, I'm sure we would." Atlantis calmly replied. "And the three of us would be there to confront you, with our storm, weather, and water runes at the ready." It was a sharp reminder that he was the only Cardinal who had yet to obtain a rune, and it was a rather low blow.
Offline
"Ooooh," Timor said with a pained expression, hand on his chest. "An' here I thought you were a lady!"
Offline
Atlantis simply shrugged. "I am only speaking the truth."
Offline
"You're 'bout as low and dirty as I am." He said with a cheeky grin.
Offline
"As pirates, we all are." Atlantis remarked with another elegant lift of her shoulders.
