"If they have, then I'm screwing up big time and am probably about to perish along with you, order irrelevant," Raez mentions carefreely, referencing how they're the closest to potential enemy cannons at the moment.
Offline
Ruby looked at the approaching ship. "Should we ready the canons, captain?"
Offline
"Nah," Raez says, shaking his head. "Little reason to fight or provoke one."
Offline
"If you say so, Captain..." she said, eyeing the other ship warily.
Offline
"Oh, did you wish to ram a hole in the hull of their ship?" he asks without any degree of concern whatsoever. What a True Neutral.
Offline
"No Sir. I was just concerned for the crew, the Cardinals aren't known for getting along outside of meetings." She said, red hair flowing.
Offline
"We aren't," he agrees, but goes on to evaluate: "However, if they don't want to fight, then initializing a fight would mean more risk and unknown benefits, if any, at the moment." He taps the railing. "Hmm. Perhaps we should obtain a more solid indicator of similar intentions. Or perhaps call this matter to vote. Those two don't seem like the best indicators of their ship's intentions, after all."
Who the heck starts a partial democracy on a pirate ship? Raez, that's whom. Or at least sometimes. Other times he actually acts like a captain.
Offline
Ruby blinked, but nodded. "Yes, Sir. Actually
...I'm not sure if those two are even part of that crew." She squented at the people visible on the other ship. "One's a prisoner I believe and the other......I have no clue."
Offline
"Vindicta seems very lenient with their prisoners," Raez observes. "If the other is truly not a crewmate, then the supervision of the prisoner is..." He tries for a less offensive term than "egregious," which was what came to mind at first. "...lacking," he finishes, seemingly satisfied with his vocabulary choice.
Offline
She nodded in agreement. "I'll never understand the minds of those other Cardinals."
Offline
"Who knows?" he asks rhetorically. "Perhaps it's a tactical strategy. I'll never know, though, if it is. I don't intend on asking." He shrugs, keeping an eye on the Vindicta, just in case.
Offline
(Ey Rune, Elowen's on the Vindicta, right? Not Solis?)
Offline
{Oh pffff I'm dumb and thought this was still on the Vindicta}
Offline
(Nope, Raez is the Southern Cardinal. He's on Solis with Ruby lol
But Elowen should come to Solis, prisoners have an extent of voting rights :D yay democracy)
Offline
{XD she should}

((XDD))
Beryl looked around dreamily. "The breeze is whispering secrets. There's something nearby."
Offline
(Almost one month later, I'm just going to point out how it isn't my turn to POV so lol)
Offline
"Like what?" Elowen frowned at Beryl.
Offline
Beryl leaned into the wind, letting the spray from the waves crashing against the ship dot her serene face.
"Land, untouched by human feet for years. The water recalls another ship, the last to have been there, leaving something behind."
Offline
"There's treasure on an island up ahead?" she guessed.
Offline
"Is that what you humans call it?" She asked idly. "Then I suppose, yes."
Offline
"Treasure, or the island?" She frowned.
Offline
"Both," She said with a serene nod.
